Local groups with young refugees

Spaces for exchange, creativity and empowerment

In each partner country, local groups are formed with young refugees (aged around 16-24) who meet regularly throughout the duration of the project. In a protected and supportive space, they connect with others and exchange ideas. Inspired by creative methods of civic education, they get the possibility to share own experiences, interests and social topics. This exchange might include experiences of discrimination or experiences in connection with their displacement, but it can also include other topics that matter to them and feel important in their lives.

Together, they develop their own participation projects, such as social media campaigns, podcasts or public theatre plays. The meetings are accompanied by experienced trainers.

The local groups also get the possibility to connect internationally via digital formats and everyone gets to know each other personally at the final Get-Together Event. In addition, one young person from each country represents their group at the Transnational Meetings in order to contribute their experiences to the further development of the overall project.
